Transfusions Saved Alex and Claudia
Both Mead children, 3-year-old Claudia and 6-year-old Alex, were born with a rare form of anemia. Both kids needed a blood transfusion when they were only hours old.
Alex received blood transfusions until he was 5½ and Claudia continues to receive a blood transfusion every three weeks. Between

Christine Douglass' Story

Christine Douglass believed in donating blood for the opposite reason, "I thought it was important to help others, and I also always wondered what if I ever need it?"
